International LGS Awareness Day

November 1st is International LGS Awareness Day – LGS Foundation

Each year, the LGS Foundation organizes a social media campaign and in-person events worldwide to recognize International LGS Awareness Day.  In addition, more than 50 locations will Illuminate for LGS by lighting up in purple and green to raise awareness for Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome.

Due to the complex seizure combinations that occur in patients with Dup15q Syndrome, Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome is a common seizure diagnosis.

Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome (LGS) is a type of epilepsy with multiple different types of seizures, particularly tonic (stiffening) and atonic (drop) seizures. Approximately 48,000 children and adults in the United States have LGS and approximately 1 million worldwide.
