What’s the Connection? Sleep and the Epilepsy Spectrum
Sleep and epilepsy have a bi-directional relationship. Whether your epilepsy is well controlled or you are living with a rare or severe epilepsy, join us to talk about sleep across the epilepsy spectrum. On March 3 at 2 PM ET, Dr. Jesus Pina-Garva, MD, Director of the Pediatric Epilepsy Program at Centennial Children’s Hospital will be joined by Desiree Ramsaran, a medical student diagnosed with Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy (JME) and Angie Auldrige, the mother of a son diagnosed with a SCN2A, a rare epilepsy, for a live webinar to discuss all things sleep. Our panel will discuss everything from the epilepsy-sleep connection, sleep concerns, day time symptoms that might indicate there are sleep issues, sleeping safe when you have epilepsy, how to talk to your doctor about sleep, when overnight EEG monitoring and other testing might be indicated, and epilepsy syndromes that occur during sleep like Electrical Status Epilepticus in Sleep (ESES). This discussion is just in time as March 13-19 celebrates Sleep Awareness week. Registration is free.
