Chautauqua Park is in Boulder and can be combined with a visit to the town or done on its own. The park sits at the base of the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and offers spectacular views of the iconic Flatirons. The park is the starting point to many hiking trails, gardens, and a large open grassy area for picnicking. There is a dining hall onsite that offers fine dining and afternoon tea on the weekends (reservations required).
Super Duper tips: Because of its amazing views, the park does get busy, especially during the summer months. There is a shuttle service to get in when the lots are full, however several handicapped parking spots are at the top near the dining hall. The trails vary from easy to difficult, and the main trails are wide and hard packed which would accommodate strollers/sturdy mobility devices and have some elevation gains.
