Dup15q Alliance is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Donations are tax-deductible in the United States, as allowed by law.

United Kingdom Donations
To make a donation that is eligible for Gift Aid in the UK, visit our projects on GlobalGiving UK.
Thanks to the partnership between Dup15q Alliance and GlobalGiving UK, citizens of the United Kingdom can make a donation to Dup15q Alliance that qualifies for Gift Aid. All funds donated to GlobalGiving UK through Dup15q Alliance’s projects will be transferred to Dup15q Alliance. Thank you for your support!

“Hours for Volunteer Grant” Program through employers:
These are corporate giving programs created to encourage volunteerism in communities where employees live and work. Through these programs, companies provide monetary grants to organizations where employees volunteer. Almost half of all Fortune 500 companies offer matching grants for employee volunteer hours. These Employee Volunteer Programs, commonly called “Dollars for Doers,” offer organizations anywhere between $8-20 per hour volunteered. This number is amplified when groups or teams from a corporation volunteer at your nonprofit organization together. Some companies even offer dollars for hours volunteered by retirees!
Employer Matching Gifts:
Many companies not only encourage their employees to give to and volunteer time to nonprofits in their communities, but also will match those efforts with dollars and other means of support. Employee Matching Gifts are donations an employer makes to match its employees’ charitable contributions. Employee matching gifts often are dollar-for-dollar, but some companies will give double or even triple the original donation.

For example, when an employee participates in a walkathon or other type of fundraising event, their employer may match the money they raise through sponsorship or other donations.
Guidelines and amounts vary with each company. Typically, individuals must submit forms to their employers. They usually can get more information about their matching gift benefits from their human resources department.
Tributes and Memorials:
Interested in supporting Dup15q Alliance and offering a tribute to an important person in your life? Honor a caregiver, family member, parent, sibling, dear friend, or another by making a gift to Dup15q Alliance in their name.
If you have recently lost a loved one, or wish to keep the name of someone important to you alive, consider making a memorial gift to Dup15q Alliance. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to make Dup15q Alliance the recipient of memorial donations for your loved one.
Whether it is a tribute gift or memorial gift, please convey the name of that person by letter or note attached to your check, or complete the appropriate section on the electronic donation page. Please indicate whether your gift is a tribute gift or a memorial gift. If you would like us to acknowledge your thoughtfulness to the person being honored, or to a family member, please provide a name and address for that person and we will communicate this special news. Dup15q Alliance will list the names of donors of tribute and memorial gifts, and the names being honored, in its yearly electronic Report of Donors.
Include us in your Will:
Bequests are an easy, low-cost way of supporting Dup15q Alliance and its mission. Almost any kind of asset can be bequeathed, including cash, securities, tangible personal property, real estate, or a portion or remainder of an IRA, tax-sheltered annuity, qualified pension or profit-sharing plan.
We urge consultation with an attorney of your choice to better understand bequest options, whether creating a new will or amending an existing will. A charitable bequest reduces the value of an estate and therefore reduces both federal and state estate taxes, depending on the value of that estate. An attorney can best advise about applicable federal and state taxes.

Gifts of appreciated securities often have benefits not associated with gifts made by check or credit card. Those benefits can include avoidance of capital gains taxes on your stock’s increase in value since you purchased or received it and a federal income tax charitable deduction (if you itemize on your federal tax return) for the full fair market value on the date you convey that gift to Dup15q Alliance.
To gift electronically held securities
Please contact Dup15q Alliance Board at Board@dup15q.org for personal assistance in making a gift of stocks or bonds. Then, contact your broker in writing with instructions to transfer (not sell) the specified stocks to Dup15q Alliance’s stock gift account, and include:
- Your account number and signature(s) (both owners of a joint account must sign)
- Date you wish to complete the charitable gift
- Company name and number of shares
- Fund designation for gift, if applicable
