NAYZILAM® Availability

October 19, 2020
Alert from our friends at the Epilepsy Foundation.

“We have been made aware that there is a temporary shortage of NAYZILAM® (midazolam) nasal spray, which is a newly approved rescue medication for break-through seizures. This shortage is due to an unforeseen manufacturing delay that is not COVID-related. The delay is not a result of a safety or medical issue.

In early October, supply in the local pharmacies will be limited, but the expectation is that Nayzliam will be available again in late October.

The company manufacturing Nayzilam has set up an information and assistance phone number and email for individuals who may be affected by this shortage.

There are medications other than Nayzilam which can be used as Rescue Therapy. Please talk to your health care provider for alternative rescue options if you are affected by this shortage.”
