Red Rocks Amphitheater is the premier outdoor venue for concerts, but is open year-round for hiking and sightseeing.  It is about a 30-minute drive from the hotel. The Ship Rock Grille at the top has amazing views and the Visitor’s Center is complete with an interactive music museum of all the artists that have played there. There are tours you can book that will take you backstage (not wheelchair accessible). At the bottom of the amphitheater, there is a Trading Post for souvenirs and is home to the Colorado Music Hall of Fame. This is a must stop destination for music lovers!

Super-duper tips – While the trails are not wheelchair accessible, both the top and bottom of the amphitheater are. The most traveled trail (Trading Post trail) is 1.4 miles long winds through the rock formations, and has a lot of stairs. The park closes early on concert days, so check the schedule or go early if you plan to go.

Bonus tip – If you don’t eat at the Ship Rock Grille, plan to stop, shop and eat in Morrison, which is the town below the park.  The town of Morrison is a historic town and is very “Colorado.” Just be sure to stick to the 25mph speed limit as you will get a ticket for speeding!
