The Boulder Bubble

December 11, 2020

Known as “The Boulder Bubble” or “the city nestled between the mountains and reality,” Boulder is a fun, hip town. It is about 20 minutes from the hotel and sits below large sandstone slabs called the Flatirons. Pearl Street (which is pedestrian only), is the place to be! It is lined with unique shops and fabulous restaurants. Other attractions are the Dushanbe Teahouse, the Boulder Creek Path, Celestial Seasonings tea tour, the Boulder Farmers’ Market (named #1 in the country by USA Today!) and much more. Boulder is also home to the University of Colorado campus, where some of the original buildings date back to 1876.

Super Duper tips: There is a lot going on in Boulder, and there is usually a fair amount of people around (which may be overwhelming for those who get overstimulated). But it is all accessible and a fun place to hang out and enjoy the afternoon!

Some other site-seeing options in Boulder, depending on your Duper’s interests:

Pearl Street Outdoor Mall: If your Duper enjoys a little hustle and bustle in their life Pearl Street is a fun place to walk around to check out the street performers, be outside, play on the play structures or check out our favorite toy store, Into the Wind, they have more than kites!

Liberty Puzzle Factory: If you have a puzzle lover in the family, this is the place to go! Wooden puzzles with hand-drawn pieces that are and laser carved. See people hard at work in the factory and learn about how the puzzles are made from start to finish in a quick 20-minute tour.
